Shigehisa Kimura started his wine career as a sommelier in a top hotel in Tokyo where he worked for 10 years. The label reflects the two heritages at play by incorporating a cherry blossom motif (symbol of Japan) with a koru (symbol of New Zealand) in its design. The combination of the two work together to represent ‘harmony between New Zealand and Japan, and also the ‘New Start’ and “Growth ‘ of Kimura Cellars.
